Frequently asked questions
For job seekers
- Do I need an account to apply?
- No. Applying takes your name, phone and email. An optional free account lets you save jobs, see your application history and manage alerts.
- Is every job's pay really listed?
- Yes. A listing cannot be published without a pay figure or range and a unit (hour, day, event, week, month, year).
- What does "Aggregated from …" mean?
- A small number of listings are hand-curated from other public sources with attribution. Those link to the original posting instead of using our apply form.
- How do alerts work?
- Save a search on the alerts page. You confirm by email once, then receive a daily digest only on days with new matches (or weekly). No mail is sent over Shabbos or Yom Tov. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Who sees my resume?
- Only the employer you applied to, through a private link that expires. Resumes and applications are deleted after 12 months.
- A listing looks wrong or suspicious. What can I do?
- Use "Report this listing" at the bottom of any job page. Two reports take a listing down automatically until a person at the Institute reviews it.
For employers
- How much does it cost to post?
- Nothing. Listings are free and run for 30 days, with renewals. The only paid option is Featured for 30 days.
- Do I need to set up an account first?
- No. Fill in the form, click Publish, and confirm the email we send. That one click creates your account and makes the listing live.
- Why is pay required?
- Listings with pay get far more applications, and several states require pay ranges in job postings. Stating pay up front respects the applicant's time and yours.
- Can I write religious requirements into my listing?
- Observance requirements that are tied to the kashrus role belong in your description in your own words. Requirements based on sex, age, national origin, disability or citizenship-only are not allowed. See the posting guidelines. You are responsible for the legality of your wording.
- My listing was hidden. What now?
- Our automated review hides listings that look incomplete or unusual, and two community reports do the same. You receive an email with the reason and a link to edit and resubmit; a person reviews resubmissions.
- How do applications reach me?
- By email, instantly or as a daily digest (your choice), and in your dashboard with statuses, notes, and call and WhatsApp buttons.
