JOB TITLE: Lead Mashgiach
DEPARTMENT: KVH Kosher Food Service
SUPERVISOR: Food Service Coordinator
LOCATION: Brandeis University | Waltham, MA
HOURS: 40-50 weekly, Monday-Fri 6am-2pm
DAY OFF: Sunday or Friday
SALARY:$75,000-$90,000 depending on experience + 1 week + Pesach paid time off
POSITION DESCRIPTION: To serve the KVH Kosher - Rabbinical Council of New England as a Lead Mashgiach at Brandeis University.
LOCATIONS: Brandeis University Kosher dining @ Sherman, Deli in Upper Usdan, & Events around campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Maintain KVH Kosher Standards: Serve as mashgiach and oversee other mashgichim to ensure KVH Kosher standards including
Bishul yisrael
Pas yisrael
Bedikas tola’im
KVH Kosher protocols & documentation
II. Event Management, including:
Scheduling
Review event reports
Submit event reports to the KVH Food Service Coordinator.
III. Management
Ensure adequate coverage for all supervised areas.
Conduct regular visits to all supervised areas on campus.
Review Hashgacha Reports,
Maintain Kashrus documentation for all supervised areas.
Work with KVH Food Service Coordinator on updating/reviewing protocol documents, communicating policy changes to all parties when needed.
Maintain a roster of other mashgichim including student mashgiach for full coverage 6am-10pm daily.
IV. Onsite Supervision
Serve as primary onsite senior mashgiach
Work with the food service coordinator to arrange for coverage in the event one of the other team members can not be there.
Occasionally cover for alternate mashgiach (snow storms, etc.)
V. Reporting
A. Weekly communication with Field Supervisor
B. Weekly summary of past events along with a review of the setup of the following week's events, in addition to any pressing issues.
C. Monthly summary of reporting.
